The seat of my state's government is St. Paul, our capital city. The chief state official is the governor.
Our governor is Mark Dayton.
My state sends two U.S. Senators to represent us in Washington. Their names are Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar. We also elect 134 U.S. Representatives to represent us at Congress. The name of my representative is Keith Ellison.
State Capital
My state capital is St. Paul. State lawmakers meet in the state capital. The governor lives there, too. St. Paul became the state capital in 1849.

Most states are divided into counties. Louisiana is divided into parishes. Alaska is divided into boroughs. The county where I live is named Hennpin county. There are 87 counties in my state. The size of my county is 607 square miles. The capital of my state is in Ramsey county.
